Tuning GDG: This cigar box guitar is a solid performer designed specifically for playing slide guitar, unimpeded by metal frets. The short cigar box paired with a long neck (24.75 inch scale) allows for a two octave range free of the box. To maintain a comfortable distribution of weight between the box and neck we have used a stable lighter weight timber (a lucky roadside find) and given it a decorative fret marker finish. A rails type humbucker pickup with tone and volume controls gives this model plenty of grunt backed up by the dependability of the unique Avocet fixed bridge.
